My son's biological father pays child support regularly (after being threatened with jail time by a judge) but is completely uninvolved in my son's life - hasn't seen him, talked to him, or asked about him for years. My current husband is an amazing father to my son. I have been researching legal guardianship to give some rights to my current husband since he is the one actively raising my son. What are the benefits/drawbacks to my current husband becoming a legal guardian? Would my ex be released from obligation to pay child support like he would be if my current husband adopted my son?

The security deposit was refunded in full but they tried to be deceptive about entering into a new lease during the remainder of my lease. And now try to say I am required to pay the utilities for the property for the 2 months after I vacated and turned over possession of the keys

My husband and I own a home and have rented out a room to a man under a month to month lease. After 8 months we have decided that this is no longer what we want and have served him his 30 day notice to vacate. During this period he has moved his girlfriend in who never leaves our home even when he is at work and stays the night every night for the past 2 weeks. We clearly have it stated in the lease that the tenant shall not have overnight guests for more than 2 nights in a one week period. Can I call the cops and have her escorted off our property?

I am the father and am out of work and don't have a stable place to live. If both my girlfriend and I agree can I sign the baby over to my mom and will Cps still get involved if we do so. She just signed an adoption plan so would my mom still be able to take the baby home. I am against the adoption.
